DENVER (KDVR) -- UCHealth leaders said they’re seeing an increase in young people suffering from noise-induced hearing loss. Hearing loss is most associated with age, but UCHealth audiologist Dr. Vinaya Manchaiah said exposure to loud noise is the second biggest risk factor. "In the past, we didn’t have access to listen to music for really long times, but now with the smartphones, you can listen to music for a long time and you see people wearing headphones all day long,” Manchaiah said. Around the world, 50% of teenagers and younger adults (12-35) are at risk of hearing loss due to recreational exposure to loud sounds, according to UCHealth leaders. Families saving for college and encouraging their kids to aim for the top are getting scammed by the left-wing college industrial complex. Colleges distort and outright lie about who gets accepted, education quality and what it costs. If they were selling auto loans and used the same deceptive tactics, they’d be in jail.Columbia University announced earlier this month that it is permanently eliminating SAT and ACT test scores as part of the undergraduate admissions process — the first Ivy League school to go permanently test-optional. Columbia issued a slippery statement about making admissions “nuanced” and “respecting varied backgrounds, voices and experiences.” Truth is, Columbia is ditching merit for diversity. Without admitting it, Columbia has replaced an academic mission — providing a rigorous education to a group of prepared students — with a new one: social engineering.Expect other colleges to follow.President Joe Biden made equity the mission ...Tips for making your commute a productive one

Commutes may not be too difficult, but even the most affable person can periodically be affected by the monotony of commuting day in and day out.According to data from the United States Census Bureau, the average person’s commute is just over 27 minutes in each direction while driving solo. That adds up to about 234 hours a year, not excluding for vacations or other time away from work.Commuters may aspire to make their commutes easier and more tolerable, and the following are some ways to do just that.Change your method of travel.Driving solo may be faster, but being behind the wheel in traffic can be stressful. Taking a bus or a train leaves that stress to someone else, which may make...Latest news
