ISTANBUL (AP) — President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday that Turkey may part ways with the European Union, implying that the country is thinking about ending its bid to join the 27-nation bloc.“The EU is making efforts to sever ties with Turkey,” he told reporters before departing for the 78th U.N. General Assembly in New York.“We will evaluate the situation, and if needed we will part ways with the EU.”He was responding to a question about a recent report adopted by the European Parliament, which stated “the accession process cannot resume under the current circumstances, and calls on EU to explore ‘a parallel and realistic framework’ for EU-Türkiye relations.”Turkey applied to join the European Union in 1999, and accession talks began in 2005. CHICAGO -- A Chicago man is facing felony charges after two men were stabbed in West Ridge Thursday. According to police, 41-year-old Boris Vasilic was arrested in the 6300 block of North Fransico Avenue around 10:44 a.m. and was identified as the man who, 30 minutes earlier, stabbed two men, 32 and 35, in the 2800 block of West Devon Street. 14-year-old boy fatally shot near Hillcrest HS ID’d: Police Vasilic was placed into custody and charged accordingly. HOUSTON (WFLA) — A plumber made a morbid discovery after finding a fetus in a pipe at a Texas apartment complex, according to multiple reports.The Harris County Sheriff's Office was notified of the situation on Monday, local outlet KPRC reported. Residents at the Glen Cove Apartments had been complaining of drainage problems since Friday, according to Houston outlet KHOU.As a plumber began working on a building, he opened a pipe and reported finding the remains inside.Authorities said the fetus was in the early stages of development.According to KHOU, a woman at the building was seen being taken away in an ambulance.
