OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Two 18-month-old children are dead after drowning in a backyard swimming pool Thursday morning at a home in northwest Oklahoma City. When firefighters pulled up to the home in the Cobblestone neighborhood, they found the children had already been pulled out of the water by a parent who was administering CPR. The former Minneapolis police officer serving time for the 2020 murder of George Floyd pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of tax evasion.Derek Chauvin. Chauvin appeared via Zoom from a federal prison in Tucson, Arizona. He was standing in a room and paced around before the hearing began.Chauvin and his now ex-wife were charged with multiple counts of underreporting their income and failing to file tax returns. His ex-wife pleaded guilty earlier to two counts. Chauvin was previously convicted on state murder charges for the May 2020 killing of Floyd and on a federal count of violating the Black man’s civil rights.Floyd died May 25, 2020, after Chauvin, who is white, pressed his knee against the Black man’s neck for more than nine minutes. The national historic site was damaged when a car crashed into the building in 2020, interrupting long-term restoration efforts.“The damage was down there on the first floor, the car came up on Hoosick Street and ran right into the back door on the first floor and smashed it all in," P. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police in Troop G made four notable DWI arrests between March 10 and 16. One driver recorded a BAC of 0.29% and was found to have an outstanding warrant. On Saturday, March 11, State Police of Clifton Park responded to a one-car crash on State Route 146, where they discovered an unoccupied vehicle. Police were able to locate the driver, James J. Vreeland, 35, of Schenectady, at a nearby business. Vreeland was charged with Driving While Impaired With Drugs and other Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. Vreeland had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years and did not have a valid driver's license. He refused to provide a sample to determine the drug content in his blood.
