DUBLIN (AP) — Vera Pauw’s four-year tenure as coach of Ireland’s women’s team will end when her current deal expires this week.The Football Association of Ireland board announced late Tuesday that Pauw won’t be retained despite leading the country to its first Women’s World Cup.FAI chief executive Jonathan Hill thanked the Dutchwoman “for her hard work and commitment over the past four years and (we) wish her well for the future.” He noted the World Cup qualification that “made history and inspired a nation.”Ireland was eliminated in the group stage of the tournament after losses to co-host Australia and Canada and a draw with Nigeria.“The future is bright for women and girls’ football,” Hill said. “Our focus now is building upon the work done by Vera and the historic achievements of our women’s team, which we see as a platform to support the next phase of the journey for the team, and more broadly the development of women and girls’ footbal...

Bennett school locked down after reports of person with gun at nearby park

DENVER (KDVR) — Deputies were investigating Tuesday after a report of someone with a gun put an elementary school in Bennett on lockdown.The investigation was in the area of Trupp Park, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Office.Deputies got a call at 5:15 p.m. reporting someone with a gun at the park, and a witness said "shots fired," according to the sheriff's office. Soccer practice was underway at the park as this was happening.A person of interest was detained shortly after at 5:25 p.m., the sheriff's office said. No victims were located, and investigators had not confirmed whether shots were fired as of Tuesday evening. A large perimeter was established for the investigation.Witness interviews were continuing, the sheriff's office said.Parents were directed to go to Bennett High School to reunite with their children. DENVER (KDVR) -- Rapper Travis Scott is set to perform at Denver's Ball Arena on Sunday, Oct. 22, according to an announcement Tuesday.The Utopia - Circus Maximus Tour is to promote Scott's fourth studio album, "Utopia," which was released on July 28 of this year. List: Concerts announced so far for Denver in 2024 This is Scott's first headlining tour since the 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston. Former Hialeah officer found guilty of kidnapping homeless man, not guilty of battery

A jury returned with a guilty verdict in the trial of a former Hialeah Police officer accused of kidnapping a homeless man. The verdict was reached by jurors, Tuesday evening. Officer Rafael Otano, 27, was accused of kidnapping and beating Jose Ortega Gutierrez, along with former Officer Lorenzo Orfila, on Dec. 17, 2022.Otano was found guilty of armed kidnapping but was found not guilty on the charge of battery.
